Coptic TV Live Stream

Coptic TV, known as CTV, is the official satellite channel of the Coptic Orthodox Church, broadcasting in Arabic from Cairo to Egypt and the diaspora. It was established in 2007 at the initiative of Pope Shenouda III, Patriarch of Alexandria and of the See of Saint Mark, and was the church's first official television service.

The businessman Tharwat Bassily was instrumental in setting up the network. Experimental broadcasts began in late 2007 and the channel then launched formally, later extending its coverage to North America and other regions.

Liturgies and Church Events

The central output is the liturgy, transmitted live from Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo and from other churches. Major feasts, the Easter celebrations and the ceremonies of the church calendar are carried in full.

The channel also covers the events of the Patriarchate, including visits by Pope Tawadros II, and reports on the life of dioceses and monasteries.

Teaching and Education

Teaching programmes explain Orthodox doctrine, the sacraments and the Coptic rite. Series work systematically through the faith for adults and for young people, and Bible study sessions present the text chapter by chapter.

Educational output covers Coptic language and hymnody, and helps preserve the church's liturgical heritage for new generations.

Programmes for the Diaspora

Services conducted in Arabic for the diaspora communities are part of the schedule, and the channel documents the work of Coptic churches in Europe, Australia and North America.

Where to Watch

Coptic TV is carried on satellite across the Middle East and streams around the clock through its own application and website, with clips and recordings published on its YouTube channel.
