The Global Francophone Channel

TV5Monde was created in 1984 by the public broadcasters of France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Quebec to carry French-language television worldwide. Today it reaches hundreds of millions of households, with regional feeds for Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia-Pacific and a unique mix of its partners' best programs.

One World, One Language

The schedule is anchored by Le Journal, the channel's news editions covering world events in French. 64' Le monde en francais brings daily debate on international affairs, while daytime and evening hours carry series, films and documentaries from France, Belgium, Switzerland and Quebec. Weekends feature entertainment programs and sport.

Kiosque on Sunday, Cinema All Week

Signature formats include Kiosque, the Sunday press review, and Destination Francophonie, the magazine exploring the French-speaking world. Alongside them sit cooking and lifestyle magazines, music programs, children's animation and a celebrated selection of French-language cinema subtitled for learners and cinephiles alike.

Presenters and Partners

Journalists present the news and debates from Paris, while partner broadcasters supply flagship programs - a schedule no single national channel could offer: the whole francophone world in one place.
