CBS News Baltimore Live Stream

CBS News Baltimore is the local streaming news service built around WJZ-TV, channel 13, the CBS station for Baltimore, Maryland. The station is owned and operated by CBS Television Stations and works from studios and offices on Television Hill in the Woodberry section, beside the transmission tower it shares with several other local broadcasters.

The Station

WJZ signed on the air on 1 November 1948 as WAAM, the third television station in Baltimore after WBAL-TV and WMAR-TV. It was originally owned by Radio-Television of Baltimore Inc., whose principals were the Baltimore businessmen and brothers Ben and Herman Cohen.

Channel 13 began as an ABC affiliate, the network's fifth outlet on the East Coast, and carried a secondary affiliation with the DuMont Television Network until that network closed in 1956. Both affiliations moved from WMAR-TV, which became an exclusive CBS station.

Streaming Output

The streaming channel carries the newsroom's reporting beyond the broadcast schedule: rolling headlines, breaking local stories, weather and community coverage for the city and the surrounding counties. Baltimore's politics, crime and courts, port and industry, and the city's schools and neighbourhoods are the standing subjects.

Longer items follow regional affairs across Maryland, and the service covers events as they happen with reporters in the field.

Access

CBS News Baltimore streams continuously over the internet through the CBS News platform, which hosts the national channel and the group's local services together, and it is available in the CBS News app and on connected televisions.
