Welat TV Live Stream
Welat TV is a Kurdish and Syrian media platform that began official broadcasting from Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, at five in the afternoon on Friday 11 October 2024. It operates as a television channel together with a radio station and a website, under the direction of Sabah Mirani.
Focus
The platform is dedicated to Kurdish and Syrian affairs. Its cameras are directed towards Qamishlo and the towns of Syrian Kurdistan, and its coverage extends to events across all Syrian provinces, with reporting presented as accurate and objective.
The vision is framed around the values of the Kurdish people living alongside their fellow Syrians of every community. Through its programmes the network promotes tolerance and coexistence, and it presents diversity as something that enriches society rather than dividing it.
Politics, refugees and culture
In its first season the channel offered a varied schedule covering political, social, historical, artistic and cultural subjects. Particular attention is given to refugees, internally displaced people and expatriates, whose concerns the network says its programmes address without discrimination.
News and programmes are produced in both Arabic and Kurdish, so that the service reaches the region's multicultural audience, and the channel states that it applies modern media practice with an emphasis on neutrality and courage in reporting.
Operations
Welat TV works from Erbil with plans to move to Qamishlo, and it maintains a network of correspondents inside and outside Syria. Its output is distributed through satellite, its website and social platforms, and it streams live online for viewers outside the region.
