TV channels Portugal
The Portugal section of online-television.net lists twenty-eight channels over two pages — the full arc of Portuguese television, from the public broadcaster's family and the private generalists to pay-sport networks, a children's pioneer, parliamentary coverage and an unusually dense cluster of faith channels.
The Public Broadcaster's Family
RTP 1 is the flagship of Rádio e Televisão de Portugal and the country's first regular television service, on air since 7 March 1957. RTP 2, launched on 25 December 1968, is the cultural and factual sister channel. Around them stands a family of services: RTP Açores for the Azores, RTP Memória, on air since 2004, replaying the broadcaster's archive, RTP Internacional, launched on Portugal's national day, 10 June 1992, for the worldwide diaspora, and RTP África, serving the Portuguese-speaking African countries.
Private Generalists, News and Parliament
SIC — Sociedade Independente de Comunicação — became Portugal's first private television channel when it launched on 6 October 1992, founded by Francisco Pinto Balsemão's Impresa group; Tvi, Televisão Independente, completes the pair of private national generalists. In news, CNN Portugal is the Media Capital channel that began as TVI 24 in 2009 and took the CNN name on 22 November 2021, while Euronews Portugal is the Portuguese-language window of the pan-European news network. ARTV - Canal Parlamento, modelled on C-SPAN, carries the work of the Assembleia da República from the São Bento Palace.
Sport and Children
Sport TV, on air since 16 September 1998, is the pay-television sports network whose channels carry the Primeira Liga and the competitions the country follows. Porto Canal, broadcasting from Matosinhos since 2006, has been partnered with FC Porto since 2011. For younger viewers, Canal Panda was Portugal's first channel dedicated to children, founded as Panda Club in 1996, and Kuriakos Kids adds further children's programming.
Faith, Local Television and Music
A notable block of the listing is faith television: RIT TV, the network of the Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus; TV Maná-1; IURDTV Europa; Canal Vida; Way TV, broadcasting from the Igreja Vida community; the Kuriakos family's Kuriakos Tv and the Christian cinema channel Kuriakos Cine; and Igreja Online from the Algarve. Local and niche cards include the municipal Agueda.TV from Águeda, ADBTV, and the music services WEB TV Paixao FM and ON FM Portugal.
Each card in the section opens an individual channel page with a description and transmission, and every station also appears in its genre section — General, News, Sport, Kids, Religious or Local TV — so the Portugal listing works both as a national overview and as an entry point to the catalogue's thematic pages.
