ARTV - Canal Parlamento online - Television live

ARTV - Canal Parlamento Live Stream

ARTV - Canal Parlamento is the official television channel of the Assembleia da República, Portugal's parliament. Modelled on C-SPAN, it opens the doors of the São Bento Palace to any citizen with a screen.

Democracy, Uninterrupted

Plenary sessions go out live and unedited - prime minister's questions, budget marathons, confidence votes and the state-of-the-nation debate. Committee hearings follow in full, where ministers, experts and petitioners face questioning that never makes the evening news in its entirety but often decides the story.

Beyond the Chamber

Between live sittings, ARTV programs documentaries on parliamentary history, portraits of the deputies, explainers on how laws are made and coverage of the parliament's visitor life - school groups, open days and the annual 25 de Abril celebrations of the Carnation Revolution that created the modern assembly.

Gavel to Gavel, Live

The channel streams free around the clock, so anyone who wants to watch Canal Parlamento online follows Portuguese democracy in real time, gavel to gavel. On budget nights the debates run past midnight, on election years the investitures draw the whole country, and every 25 de Abril the palace fills with carnations - the revolution's day, broadcast live from the very chamber it created - democracy as a daily, open public service.
