Al Araby TV (العربي) is a pan-Arab news channel launched in January 2015. It is the flagship service of the Al Araby Television Network, owned by the Qatari media company Fadaat Media, and broadcasts in Arabic to audiences across the Middle East and North Africa.

The Al Araby network

Al Araby TV operates alongside a second channel, Al Araby 2, and a set of digital projects — among them Ana Al Araby and Al Araby Tube — that extend the network's journalism onto social and digital platforms. The network describes itself as a comprehensive multimedia news operation, pairing round-the-clock coverage of Arab and world events with a programme library spanning political, social, cultural and entertainment formats.

News and programmes

The channel's rundown combines rolling news bulletins on the Arab region and the wider world with current-affairs programmes, talk formats and documentaries. Coverage follows the Palestinian question, the Gulf and the Levant, North African politics and the diaspora communities of Europe, reported from the network's regional network of correspondents.

Since its launch, Al Araby has positioned itself as an alternative voice in the crowded field of Arabic-language news television — a Qatari-funded operation competing with the established networks from Doha's Gulf rivals, and reaching viewers who follow the region's politics from more than one perspective.
