Polsat News Live Stream

Polsat News is the news and current affairs channel of Telewizja Polsat, broadcasting since 7 June 2008. It was the first news channel in Poland to transmit in the 16:9 format, and its live programming runs from early morning until shortly after midnight.

History

The station went on air at seven in the morning on 7 June 2008, and its test transmission ended on 14 July that year. From the outset it was unencrypted, so that it could secure wide carriage on cable networks, and advertising began on 1 August 2008. On 1 March 2009 it was encrypted in Nagravision 3 for the Cyfrowy Polsat platform.

Henryk Sobierajski headed the channel from its launch. Dorota Gawryluk held the post from March 2018 to November 2023, and since December 2023 Piotr Witwicki has led both the channel and the whole news and current affairs division.

Schedule

News services are broadcast every half hour. The day is divided into blocks: Nowy Dzien in the morning, W rytmie dnia in the afternoon and Obraz dnia in the evening.

The channel's most-watched programme is Gosc Wydarzen, broadcast directly after the main Wydarzenia bulletin and drawing an average of about a million viewers a day. Between 5:59 and 8:40 the main Polsat channel retransmits the Polsat News signal.

Newsroom

The channel employs more than four hundred people, almost half of them in the editorial team, and its website polsatnews.pl publishes rolling coverage and video alongside the broadcast.
