Voice of Lebanon online - Television live
Voice of Lebanon Live Stream
Voice of Lebanon, known by its initials VDL and in Arabic as Sawt Lubnan, is one of the oldest names in Lebanese broadcasting. The radio station was established in 1958 by the Kataeb Party during that year's crisis, and the television service now carries the same identity as VDL24.
Origins
The station was founded by the Phalanges with Joseph Abu Khalil among its founders. It broadcast for a few months and then fell silent with the departure of President Camille Chamoun and the arrival of President Fouad Chehab. With the civil war it resumed in 1975, at first on medium wave and later on FM, with Ibrahim El Khoury, Joseph El-Hachem and Elie Saliby involved in the relaunch.
Its subtitle, Voice of Freedom and Dignity, dates from that period and remains part of the brand.
Two Stations and the Courts
From 1 December 2010 the name was used by two rival stations. Voice of Lebanon 1 belonged to the Kataeb Party through Societe Nouvelle d'Information and broadcast on 100.3 and 100.5 MHz from Ashrafieh in Beirut. Voice of Lebanon 2 was run by an independent company on 93.3 MHz from Dbayeh, north of the capital, and later became Voice of All Lebanon.
In 2020 the Kataeb Party recovered the name after a court decision, and the station continues under its original ownership.
Television
The VDL24 television service carries news bulletins, talk programming and coverage of Lebanese political life, presented in Arabic and streamed in high definition alongside the radio output.
