KTV News is the news channel of Kuwait Television, the state-run television service of the State of Kuwait operating under the country's Ministry of Information. The channel carries Arabic-language news bulletins, political coverage and official programming from the Kuwaiti capital.

A pioneering Gulf broadcaster

Kuwait Television is one of the oldest television services in the Arab world: it began broadcasting in 1957, making Kuwait the first country in the Gulf region with its own television station. From those beginnings it grew into a multi-channel operation, and the news channel is the part of the network devoted to continuous coverage of Kuwaiti and regional affairs.

Official coverage of Kuwait

As the state's broadcaster, the channel reports the activities of the Kuwaiti government, the Amiri Diwan and the National Assembly, alongside economic news from one of the Gulf's major oil producers. Bulletins cover national events — from National Day celebrations to sessions of parliament — as well as the wider Arab and international agenda.

KTV News sits within Kuwait's Ministry of Information media system, which also operates the country's radio services and official publications, giving the television newsroom direct access to the state's information apparatus.
