Rudaw TV Live Stream
Rudaw TV is the television service of Rudaw Media Network, an independent media organisation headquartered in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Its newsroom covers Kurdistan, Iraq, the Middle East and international events. The network combines television with written, visual and audio journalism, bringing Kurdish perspectives to a broad regional and global audience.
From a digital newsroom to television
Rudaw Company entered media in April 2008, when its website went online. The organisation later developed a multimedia network, and Rudaw television began broadcasting on 29 May 2013. The channel introduced a full day television schedule in Kurdistan, expanding the region’s news output beyond evening programmes and repeated broadcasts.
Rudaw Media Network is owned by Rudaw Company for Media Affairs. Its headquarters are in Erbil, with offices in several countries. The organisation describes itself as an independent, for profit media establishment whose main aim is to distribute information and facts professionally. Its stated editorial outlook is not limited to a single geographic border or ideology.
News across Kurdistan and the wider region
Rudaw’s coverage follows events in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, the Middle East and the wider world. Political developments, public affairs and international events sit alongside stories from Kurdish communities. The network says it has reported from conflict areas and major regional events, with field reporting from conflict areas forming an important part of its television work.
The network publishes in Kurdish, English, Arabic and Turkish. Its Kurdish journalism includes Sorani and Kurmanji, allowing coverage to reach audiences across different Kurdish speaking communities. These language editions give the organisation a regional identity while connecting its reporting to an international readership.
Documentaries, discussion and television production
Rudaw TV’s output includes news, reports, debates and documentary programmes. The network’s official television guide lists programmes such as Diaspora, alongside its regular schedule. Rudaw says its production teams began making documentaries before the television service launched, and that documentary work remains part of the network’s broader journalism.
Rudaw began broadcasting in high definition in 2013, the same year television started. Its reporting combines newsroom production with field coverage from across the region. This mix of daily news, analysis, documentaries and multilingual journalism defines Rudaw TV’s place within one of Iraqi Kurdistan’s media networks.
