TV9 Bangla is a Bengali language news channel serving viewers in West Bengal and across the Bengali speaking community. Its newsroom is based in Kolkata and covers local developments alongside national and international affairs. TV9 Network says the channel launched in April 2021, adding a Bengali regional service to its group of Indian language news channels.

Reporting from Kolkata and West Bengal

West Bengal is at the heart of TV9 Bangla’s coverage. The official news site follows events in Kolkata and districts across West Bengal, with reporting on politics, public services, community affairs, and developments in local towns. Dedicated district sections give readers a regional view, while the Kolkata desk follows stories from the state capital and surrounding areas.

Political reporting is a visible part of the channel’s output. TV9 Bangla covers state government, parties, public representatives, and debates that affect West Bengal. Its state politics and public affairs coverage sits beside local reports, connecting decisions made in government with the issues raised by residents and communities.

News across subjects and regions

The newsroom also follows stories beyond West Bengal. Its site organizes coverage into national and world news, alongside business, sports, entertainment, technology, lifestyle, and spirituality. This range brings national and international developments into the same Bengali news service as regional reporting. Cricket and football appear within the sports section, while entertainment stories follow film and popular culture.

TV9 Bangla’s local coverage reaches across many districts, including North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, Birbhum, Nadia, Bankura, Murshidabad, and Darjeeling. These sections support district level reporting on events outside Kolkata and help represent the varied communities, landscapes, and public concerns of West Bengal.

News bulletins and cultural coverage

TV9 Network describes TV9 Bangla’s output as combining news with creative programming. Its network profile has highlighted formats such as Bangaliana Telethon, Bangaliana Baithak, Nakkhatra Samman, and News Series. The names reflect the channel’s interest in Bengali culture and public discussion as well as daily news coverage. Current stories and bulletins continue to provide the core of its reporting.

Sports, entertainment, and technology coverage adds variety to the channel’s news output. Its website publishes stories from these sections alongside reports about government, business, and community life. This mix offers news and regional features for viewers interested in both public affairs and the culture of Bengal.
