SRF 1 Live Stream

SRF 1 is the flagship channel of Swiss German public television - the most-watched channel in German-speaking Switzerland for decades and home of the programs that structure the national day.

The National Institutions

The grid runs on brands every Swiss German knows: the Tagesschau main evening news, Schweiz aktuell with the regions' own stories, Arena - the Friday political debate where Swiss elections are effectively fought - and the big entertainment Saturday nights that still gather the whole language area. Major sport, from alpine skiing weekends to the national football team, belongs here too.

Public TV, Swiss Precision

SRF 1 is built for a federal country: Zurich-based but bound by law to serve every canton, in a media market where it competes daily with the commercial giants of German television from across the border - and wins, because no Munich or Cologne network can tell a Bernese voter about Bern.

The Nation's Default Channel

The channel runs its program around the clock, so anyone who wants to watch SRF 1 online gets the very same signal as Swiss households at home. An SRF 1 live evening is the Tagesschau at half past seven, Schweiz aktuell from the regions and - on Fridays - the Arena in one sitting: the schedule the entire German-speaking half of Switzerland organizes its evening around.
