News Leader is a Hindi-language news channel broadcasting for the north Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Run by Leader News Network, the channel builds its coverage on a network of reporters spread across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh and the 13 districts of Uttarakhand, bringing hyper-local news from every corner of the two states.

Hyper-Local Reporting Across Two States

From Purvanchal to Western Uttar Pradesh, and from Awadh to Bundelkhand, the channel's correspondents file district-level reports on politics, crime, administration and civic life. In Uttarakhand, the same approach covers both the Kumaon and Garhwal regions. Every report passes editorial scrutiny before publication, with the stated aim of reliable, accurate local journalism.

Elections and State Politics

Political coverage follows the region's major contests — legislative council elections, bypolls and party campaigns of the BJP, Samajwadi Party, BSP and Congress. The debate programme Sawaal Toh Chubhega, hosted by Rohit Saval, takes up the questions raised by these contests and puts them to political representatives.

National News and Beyond

Besides state coverage, the channel reports on national affairs — union cabinet decisions, court rulings and weather emergencies — as well as cinema, sports and cultural stories from the Hindi-speaking belt.
