Kalinga TV is a 24-hour Odia-language news channel from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, launched in April 2015. Owned by Kalinga Media & Entertainment Pvt Ltd, a unit of the KIIT Group of Institutions, the channel aims to be Odisha's premier news broadcaster with a special emphasis on social development.

Founder and newsroom leadership

The channel was founded by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the philanthropist and educationist behind the KIIT and KISS institutions of Odisha, with senior journalist Soumyajit Pattnaik at the helm as Chief Editor. The parent company was incorporated on 24 April 2013, and the channel went on air two years later with a newsroom built around professionalism and vision.

Viewers follow Kalinga TV for Odisha news, Bhubaneswar coverage, politics, crime and current affairs. Its schedule pairs rolling news bulletins — the Kalinga Khabar rundowns through the day — with current-affairs and debate programmes on Odisha politics, and special coverage of the state's elections and civic events.
