Sandžak Television is the successor of the first television in Novi Pazar, Ekran Television, and in its history it changed its name three times.

On December 29, 1998, it was founded under the name Ekran, privately owned by Enver Islamović. It was the first television in Novi Pazar.

On June 16, 2008, the television changed its name to Universa, and passed from the ownership of Enver Islamović to the ownership of the International University. The basic idea of university television was to be a bastion for the training of journalists who will study at the Department of Journalism at IUNP, and for students to have the opportunity to work in their profession.

On May 11, 2011, it changed its name to Sandžak Television, and with it the programming scheme in accordance with its expanded goals: the territory of Sandžak and all its inhabitants. Still, Sandžak Television remained educational and has the most educational content in its program, but in addition to education, it is informative and deals with social, religious and political topics.
