2GB Live Stream
2GB is a commercial talk radio station in Sydney, Australia, heard on 873 AM and followed online through its live stream, which carries a video simulcast of the studio broadcast. One of the city's most listened-to stations, 2GB held a 14 per cent share of total Sydney radio ratings in 2024.
Talkback Around the Clock
The weekday schedule opens with Ben Fordham Live, the breakfast program hosted by Ben Fordham and built on news, interviews and listener calls. Mornings with Mark Levy, Afternoons with Michael McLaren and Drive with James Willis carry the talkback format through the day, and Money News with Clinton Maynard covers business, markets and personal finance. Evenings belong to Nights with John Stanley, while the Overnights programs keep the station on air until breakfast.
Sport holds a daily place in the grid through Sports Today with Adam Hawse, the station's sports talk program.
Nearly a Century on Air
2GB began broadcasting in August 1926, founded by Theosophical Broadcasting Station Pty Ltd; the GB in the callsign honours the Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno, admired by the Theosophists. By 1933 it was the first Australian station to play transcription records, in 1938 it launched the Macquarie Radio Network, and in 1957 it became the first in Australia to air news bulletins on the hour, every hour of the broadcast day.
The Macquarie Radio Network merged with the Fairfax Radio Network in April 2015; the business later operated as Nine Radio and is now Tapt Media, owned by the Laundy family.
