Bardejovská televízia, known as BTV, is a local Slovak broadcaster serving Bardejov. It began its history in August 1994, and the city’s account of the station records its first transmission later that month. The broadcaster’s work centers on local journalism and public-interest coverage, with a schedule shaped by the needs of the town and its residents. Its online television profile reflects this local remit.

News and community coverage

Spravodajstvo BTV is the station’s core news program, reporting on municipal affairs and events in the Bardejov area. Športové spravodajstvo covers local sport. The municipal account also lists Z nášho archívu (From Our Archive), which revisits material from earlier broadcasts, and travel documentaries shown on Mondays. These formats combine current local reporting with archived stories and documentary features.

A city-owned local broadcaster

Bardejovská televízna spoločnosť was established in 2001, and the city of Bardejov is its sole owner. The company holds the licence for the Bardejovská televízia program service. The municipal description says the station’s programming structure remains open to residents’ needs, with regional knowledge and useful local information at its center. BTV’s identity is therefore closely connected to public life in Bardejov rather than national entertainment programming.
