Bahrain Sport 2 Live Stream

Bahrain Sport 2 is one of the free-to-air channels provided by Bahrain's Ministry of Information Affairs, listed alongside Bahrain Sport 1 and the country's other public television services.

Why two sports channels

A second sports feed gives the broadcaster another outlet for competitions and events: when two fixtures clash, one channel can carry each. For a small state, that is cheaper than buying more rights and it fills the schedule on days when the national teams and leagues are both playing.

Football and the Gulf leagues

Bahraini sport on television means football first, including the national team's World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers, the domestic league and the Gulf Cup. Handball, athletics and motorsport follow, and the Kingdom hosts the Bahrain Grand Prix, which brings international attention every spring.

Public broadcasting in Arabic

The channel broadcasts in Arabic as part of the national service, and its coverage is built around the Kingdom's calendar rather than around a commercial schedule. Events carried depend on rights and on what the ministry's other channels are showing that day.

A small country's sporting calendar

Bahrain has about 1.5 million inhabitants, and its teams compete regionally more often than globally. The two sports channels exist to make sure that most of those fixtures can be shown somewhere.
