Bharat Samachar — BSTV — is a Hindi-language regional news channel covering Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, broadcasting around the clock from India's most populous state. The channel describes itself as the biggest regional news channel of UP and Uttarakhand, and its reporting is organised around the two states' politics, cities and countryside.

Two states, one newsroom

The channel's coverage follows the full UP agenda: state government and politics in Lucknow, the state's crime stories, agriculture in the western districts and the hill state of Uttarakhand. Its stated output mixes breaking news, politics, entertainment, sport, social-media stories and opinion, with the channel's reporters present across UP's districts and in the Uttarakhand hills. Election coverage — from the state's assembly contests to the Lok Sabha — is central to that identity.

Broadcast and digital

Bharat Samachar pairs its television signal with a digital newsroom that publishes the day's reporting continuously in Hindi, and its programmes circulate through online channels that carry the broadcast beyond its terrestrial reach. The channel's news operation extends across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand's small towns as well as the state capitals, giving viewers in the Hindi belt's two biggest hill-and-plain states a dedicated regional service.

For an audience of hundreds of millions in the two states, Bharat Samachar competes with national Hindi channels by keeping its focus regional: the politics, crime and civic life of UP and Uttarakhand rather than Delhi's national agenda.
