Noor TV Live Stream

Noor TV is an Afghan Islamic television channel that built its identity on religious education rather than entertainment. Named after the Arabic word for "light", it broadcasts in Dari and Pashto for viewers across Afghanistan and the diaspora.

A Schedule of Teaching and Recitation

The grid is devoted to Quran recitation with translation, commentary and lessons in Islamic jurisprudence, alongside programs on the life of the Prophet, devotional nasheed music and sermons by Afghan religious scholars. Children get their own religious education slots, and the holy month of Ramadan transforms the schedule with extended iftar programming and nightly prayers.

A Channel That Moved Online

Like many Afghan broadcasters, Noor TV has seen its web presence shrink in recent years - its original website no longer carries the channel. The broadcast, however, lives on through satellite distribution inside the country and through an official YouTube channel followed by tens of thousands of viewers, where programs continue to appear.

A Light for the Diaspora

For the Afghan diaspora, the Noor TV online presence remains the easiest way to keep this Afghan Islamic TV channel within reach - the same recitations, lessons and devotional programs that defined it on satellite. When Ramadan comes around, the extended iftar programming and nightly prayers make it the spiritual companion of Afghan homes from Kabul to Hamburg.
