DVB TV News is the television and video-journalism service of the Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB), an independent, non-profit media organization founded in 1992. It began as a shortwave radio service from Norway and expanded into satellite television on 28 May 2005. DVB publishes daily reporting for Myanmar and international audiences through satellite, its websites and online television. The organization is registered as a non-profit association in Thailand.

Reporting after the 2021 shutdown

Myanmar’s military shut down DVB’s television broadcast on 1 February 2021 and revoked its license the following month. DVB continued reporting from exile and through digital platforms. Its coverage includes politics, conflict, human rights, business, education, health and society, guided by an editorial mission focused on independent reporting, diversity and open debate.

News, interviews and documentaries

The broadcaster’s current video playlists include DVB Daily News Hour, Human Rights Lens, DVB World News and 30 Minutes with the ISP, alongside interviews, fact-checks and documentaries. Recent English-language video reports include Myanmar’s Nuclear Ambitions, while the Burmese service remains central to domestic-language news. DVB’s online television work complements its articles, podcasts and radio reporting for audiences inside Myanmar and abroad.
