MRTV Entertainment is the entertainment channel of Myanmar Radio and Television - MRTV - the state broadcaster of Myanmar, broadcast from its centre in Kamayut, Yangon.

The State Broadcaster's Entertainment Arm

MRTV, formerly the Burma Broadcasting Service, is the parent of Myanmar's state-run radio and television broadcasting services: the television channels broadcast from Yangon's Kamayut broadcast centre, while the radio service operates primarily from Naypyidaw.

Drama, Films and Culture

The entertainment channel's grid is built on Myanmar drama series - among the country's most-watched productions - films and cultural programming - the state broadcaster's screen for Burmese-language entertainment. MRTV's television service began in 1980 and runs the flagship MRTV channel alongside the entertainment and news services - the national broadcaster of a country of more than 50 million people, with its signal reaching the whole country by satellite and beyond. The broadcaster's family also includes MRTV-4, the MRTV News Channel, the Farmer Channel and the Hluttaw Channel.
