TV2 ØST is one of Denmark’s eight independent regional public-service media organisations. Based in Vordingborg, it covers 12 municipalities across Region Zealand, including Lolland, Falster, southern Zealand and parts of western and central Zealand. The area had about 585,000 residents in 2024.

Regional news at 19.30

The channel’s flagship 19.30 (7:30 p.m. News) bulletin leads with a major story from the region. Its reporting brings together interviews, field reports, live updates and explanatory graphics to show how local decisions and events affect people in the coverage area. TV2 ØST also supplies regional news windows on Denmark’s national TV 2 service.

Stories beyond the broadcast

TV2 ØST’s editorial brief includes regional affairs, public debate, local culture and the challenges facing communities across its area. Its digital-first strategy extends that journalism through its website, news app, streaming service, social channels and podcasts. Stories are made for audiences who want to understand what is happening close to home.

An independent regional newsroom

TV2 ØST is a self-governing public-service institution with a defined regional remit. Its programming is intended to reflect the area’s different communities, viewpoints and ways of life, and to give residents information that helps them take part in democratic discussion.
