Televisión Pública is Argentina’s national public television channel, known as Canal 7. It began broadcasting on 17 October 1951, becoming the country’s first television station. Its programming combines news, interviews, culture, music, sport and entertainment, alongside coverage of national events.

Daytime news and conversation

The weekday lineup includes Las Mañanas con Andino (Mornings with Andino), scheduled from 10:00 to 12:00, followed by Mediodía Bien Arriba (Upbeat Midday) from 13:30 to 15:00 and Estamos en Una (We’re on One) from 15:00 to 16:30. The programmes feature interviews and discussion of current events. Iluminadas (Women in the Spotlight) and La Noche Es Nuestra (The Night Is Ours) extend the channel’s talk and interview programming into the evening.

Culture, health and rural life

Economistas ADN (Economists’ DNA) focuses on economic topics, while Buena Salud (Good Health) addresses health and wellbeing. Aire de Campo (Country Air) covers rural life and agricultural themes. The channel also carries Hay Música (There Is Music), alongside cultural series, Argentine music and coverage of festivals and national events. These programmes sit alongside its news and current-affairs output.

A public channel with a long history

Canal 7’s first broadcast took place in Buenos Aires on 17 October 1951. The station later became known as Televisión Pública and remains Argentina’s public television channel. Its programming spans daily news and debate as well as music, culture, health and rural subjects, with the named shows representing different parts of its current lineup.
