NRK Trøndelag is the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's regional service for Trøndelag county and a major production centre for national radio and television. It produces news, culture and society coverage, alongside programmes for audiences across Norway.

Midtnytt and the Regional Newsroom

Viewers follow Midtnytt (Central Norway News), the regional news bulletin carried on NRK1. The district office was established on 1 July 2002 through the merger of NRK Nord-Trøndelag and NRK Sør-Trøndelag. Its Trondheim headquarters are supported by local offices in Brekstad, Røros, Steinkjer and Namsos. NRK's updated office profile names Nareas Sae-Khow as regional editor.

Science, Beliefs and National Productions

The centre has a particular responsibility for popular science and programmes about beliefs, and also makes entertainment and nature television. Its television productions include Newton, which presents science through experiments and demonstrations. Trondheim is a base for NRK P1 and P1+ output: Landsmøte (National Gathering), Ukeslutt (Week's End) and Dagens (Today's Affairs) are among its radio programmes. After decades at Tyholt, the Trondheim staff moved to new premises on Holtermanns veg on 24 August 2026.
