Geo Tez (جیو تیز) is an Urdu-language pay-television news channel from Pakistan, launched in 2013 by the Geo network of the Jang Group, one of the country's largest media houses. It later replaced Geo English, the news channel that closed down in October 2013, and built its own identity as a fast headlines service.

Headlines Around the Clock

The channel is built as a continuous news service: headlines every fifteen minutes covering Pakistan and the world, with breaking news, short reports and documentaries in between. The evening bulletin is Tez @ 7, and the grid also carries repeats of programmes from the sister channel Geo News.

Entertainment Between the Bulletins

Geo Tez put entertainment where other news channels keep long talk shows. It premiered Burka Avenger, the first Urdu-language animated series, which went viral both on the internet and on television, followed by the superhero series Team Muhafiz. The satire strip Tezabi Totay and Doodh Patti Aur Khabar, whose title pairs milky tea with the news, fill the lighter slots, and Quaid Say Baatein completes the line-up.

From Karachi to the Diaspora

Geo Tez is carried by Pakistani pay-TV operators and reached viewers in the United Kingdom on Sky Digital from May 2013 until August 2017, when the slot passed to the drama channel Geo Kahani.
