oktoTV Live Stream

oktoTV - Okto Community TV - is a private community television station in Vienna, Austria, committed to the participatory idea of citizen TV. Its programme targets groups that are underrepresented in the Austrian media landscape, and anyone can take part as a volunteer producer.

Programmes

The schedule is made by the community: music formats such as Mulatschag, Austrozone - Peter Schreiber presenting new Austrian music - and Musik aus Österreich, the diaspora magazine African Diaspora TV, the education strand Na (ja) genau and concert streams such as Sargfabrik Konzertstream. The channel has also carried coverage of the re:publica Vienna digital-society festival.

The community model

Participation is unpaid and open: the "Mitmachen" desk, workshops and an upload page let Viennese make their own television, and the Oktothek archive keeps the programmes available.

The station broadcasts on Vienna's cable and streams live on okto.tv.
