NethraTV Live Stream

NethraTV is the Tamil-language television service of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), the state broadcaster of Sri Lanka, operating from Independence Square, Colombo. It serves the island's Tamil-speaking audience.

SLRC - the island's state broadcaster, founded in 1982 - carries the Tamil-speaking community's television beside its Sinhala and English services.

Viewers follow NethraTV for the Tamil News bulletin at 7 pm, children's programmes such as Chellame - the kids' show with viewer call-ins, songs and stories - and cultural and educational programming in Tamil, keeping the Tamil-speaking north and east of the island on the state broadcaster's screens.

The Tamil Service of Rupavahini

NethraTV sits in the family of Sri Lanka's state broadcaster beside the Sinhala flagship Rupavahini and the English service Channel Eye. From Independence Square, Colombo, it carries the Tamil-speaking community's day - the news, the children's shows and the culture of the island's north and east - on the state's own channel.
