Fonte TV is a Brazilian television station headquartered in Goiânia, the capital of Goiás, broadcasting on channel 5 (47 UHF digital). It belongs to the Sistema Fonte de Comunicação, maintained by the Fundação Ministério Comunidade Cristã, and its signal covers the Goiânia metropolitan area over the air and on pay television, all of Brazil by satellite, and the internet.

From RCC TV to Fonte TV

The station first went on air on Christmas Day, 25 December 2005, as RCC TV, with a grid guided by Christian principles; between January and May 2006 it relayed STV, today SescTV. It took its current name on 25 July 2006. The concession had been contested since the late 1990s by the Federal University of Goiás, but was granted in 2002 to the Igreja Apostólica Fonte da Vida during the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, and a Senate attempt to revoke it did not advance.

Momento de Fé and the faith block

The schedule combines faith programmes — Momento de Fé, Palavra de Vida, Fé e Oração, Manancial de Vida and Profetizando Vidas — with journalism and entertainment in between.

Fonte Notícias, Placar Esportivo and Viola na Fonte

The news block is Fonte Notícias, sport is covered by Placar Esportivo and Fonte Esporte, music by Viola na Fonte and the Gospel Show, health by Hora da Saúde, and films by Cine Fonte.
