TV ALBA is the television channel of the Legislative Assembly of Bahia in Brazil. Its official profile says the broadcaster began on 1 February 2007 to carry legislative activity and support education, culture and citizenship. It launched on digital terrestrial television in 2014 and moved to channel 12.2 in Salvador in 2020.

Legislative coverage and public information

The channel brings the work of Bahia’s state legislature to the public with legislative coverage and news about issues affecting the state. Its institutional remit is complemented by cultural, educational and public-interest programming.

Daily news from Bahia

Two daily newscasts anchor the news schedule: ALBA Notícias (ALBA News), broadcast live in the afternoon, and ALBA Agora (ALBA Now), shown in the evening. Other named formats include TV ALBA Informa (TV ALBA Reports), alongside coverage of legislative sessions and public affairs. The channel’s news output is also available through its YouTube channel.

Culture and statewide reach

Beyond politics, TV ALBA covers culture, music, arts, education, health, work, public safety and human rights. The broadcaster says its open digital signal reaches 133 municipalities in Bahia, extending its audience beyond Salvador and its metropolitan area.
