Iqraa Africa & Europe Live Stream
Iqraa Africa & Europe is the regional service of the Iqraa network for two continents, carrying the channel's Arabic programming to Muslim audiences in Africa and Europe. Iqraa was founded by Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel and launched in 1998 as a satellite channel aimed at audiences across the world, and the regional feeds grew out of that international design.
Why the regions have their own feed
Africa and Europe hold some of the largest Arabic-speaking and Muslim communities outside the Middle East, from the Maghreb and the Nile valley to the Gulf diaspora in London, Paris and Brussels. A dedicated feed lets the network time its schedule for viewers living outside the Gulf's broadcast rhythm and keep its teaching programmes available on the satellites and platforms those audiences actually use.
The programming
The content follows the network's established register: series on the life and character of the Prophet, programmes on the history of Mecca and the holy places, reflective readings of the Quran, and teaching on worship and daily conduct. Dr. Ayman Rushdi Suwaid's recitation-correction programme and the network's discussions of Prophetic medicine and Islamic civilisation are part of the same body of programming carried across the Iqraa channels.
A founder's international ambition
Sheikh Kamel's stated goals included introducing Muslim peoples to one another and following the condition of Muslim communities and minorities around the world. A feed addressed to Africa and Europe puts that aim into practice, giving communities far from the Arab world a channel that speaks to them directly.
