Russia-1 HD is the high-definition feed of Russia-1 (Россия-1), the flagship federal channel of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) and one of the country's mandatory publicly available channels. The channel traces its launch to 13 May 1991, when it went on air as RTR (Russian Television).

Russia-1 Programs

The daily backbone is Vesti, VGTRK's flagship newscast, aired in multiple editions and followed in the regions by Vesti-Mestnoe Vremya, the unified windows in which VGTRK's regional branches broadcast their own news and local programmes.

Utro Rossii (Morning of Russia) opens the day with news, service information and interviews. Prime time features the talk shows 60 Minut and Vecher s Vladimirom Solovyovym, and the interview format Sudba Cheloveka hosted by Boris Korchevnikov. The channel's long-running entertainment institution is KVN, the Club of the Cheerful and Quick-Witted.

Russia-1 is distributed in HD across Russia on the first multiplex and is present on all major satellite and cable platforms. Its online home is VGTRK's platform smotrim.ru, which carries the channel's live broadcast, while russia.tv serves as the channel's official site.
