Capital TV is a television station based in Limassol, Cyprus, listed in the Republic of Cyprus Press and Information Office directory of island-wide broadcasters at an address on Georgiou Frangoudi Street.

Local and international news

The channel's coverage is described as information, education and entertainment, with the main focus on local and international news. For a Limassol station that means municipal affairs, the port and shipping industry, tourism and the city's growing technology sector alongside national politics in Nicosia.

Films, series and sport

The schedule also lists foreign films, popular series, telenovelas, children's programmes and sport. A general channel on an island of a million people has to cover that range: there is not enough audience to support separate services for each genre.

Limassol

Cyprus's second city is its commercial centre, home to shipping companies, offshore banking and a large Russian-speaking community, and it has expanded quickly along the coast. A Limassol broadcaster works in a more commercial environment than a Nicosia one, and its advertising reflects it.

Carriage on Cytavision

The station is carried on Cyta's television service as Capital TV HD at position 9, and its output is available through the CytavisionGo app. Carriage on the state telecoms operator's platform is how most Cypriot households receive pay television.
