News and public affairs

BRTK's news-programme catalog includes Açık Konuşalım (Let's Speak Openly), Gündem 12 (Agenda 12), Siyaset Masası (Politics Desk) and Ekonomi Gündemi (Economic Agenda). These titles sit within a broader selection of news and current-affairs programming. The broadcaster also separates coverage into subject areas including Cyprus, Türkiye, world news, economy, health, and culture and arts, giving BRT 1 a public-information role alongside entertainment.

Sport and television features

The official sports-programme list includes Spor Analiz (Sports Analysis), Futbol Merkezi (Football Center) and Maça Doğru (Toward the Match). Its general television list also features Bir Yazar Bir Kitap (One Author, One Book). Sports coverage and studio discussion complement the channel's news output, while the wider TV catalog includes magazine, culture and general-interest programmes.

Broadcast history and live service

BRTK's institutional history records milestones from its first radio transmission in 1963 through the launch of television in 1976 and the later establishment of the corporation under a 1983 law. The official site lists a TV live-broadcast service as well as programme schedules. BRT 1 combines a long-running television role with an online television presence, carrying news, sport and other programmes under the BRT1 HD identity.
