Alpha Cyprus Live Stream

Alpha Cyprus (Alpha Kyprou) is a national Greek-language television channel of Cyprus, based in Latsia, Nicosia. It is the Cypriot sister of Greece's Alpha TV and ranks among the highest-rated channels on the island.

Founded in 2015, on air in 2016

The station was founded on 13 October 2015 by Alpha Television Cyprus Ltd, in which a major shareholder was Dimitris Kontominas, the entrepreneur behind the Greek Alpha TV. It received its licence from the Cyprus Broadcasting Authority on 27 November 2015, was presented to the public on 21 March 2016, and began island-wide broadcasting on 4 April 2016, taking over from the earlier Alfa TV operation. In April 2018 its shares were sold to the Papaellinas Group for 7 million euros.

Imported formats, Cypriot production

The schedule pairs Cypriot productions with flagship formats from Alpha Greece: Eleni, the daily variety show; Fos Sto Tounel, the investigative series on missing persons; Spiti Mou, Spitaki Mou at weekends; the travel series 60' Ellada; and the family comedy Min Arhizeis Ti Mourmoura.

News and Cypriot current affairs

News bulletins and Cypriot current affairs complete the grid and carry most of the channel's local identity, from the Cyprus problem to the island's economy and its relationship with Greece.

Reception on the island

Alpha Cyprus broadcasts terrestrially across the island and is included in Cypriot pay-television packages. Its newsroom works from Nicosia, with the Greek parent supplying formats rather than editorial control.
