Aimed at overseas as well as domestic audiences, it positions itself alongside international news services such as BBC World News, TRT World and France 24.

PTV World Programs

The satellite schedule includes World This Morning, The Newsroom, Beyond Borders, The Experts Corner, SAT News Desk and The Perspective.

The digital service adds video formats such as Tell Me Why, Across the Line, Think Talk, South Speaks with Saqib, Debunkistan, Dossier with Ayesha and Chatroom with Shizza, alongside opinion pieces and a Social Fact Check strand.

South Asia Satellite Pioneer, Since 1992

The service began in 1992 as PTV-2, Pakistan's first satellite television channel, launched with Japanese technical assistance on an AsiaSat-1 transponder - a pioneer of satellite broadcasting in South Asia. Renamed PTV World in 1998, it was off the air between 2007 and 2013, returned as PTV World, and was relaunched as Pakistan TV in September 2025.

Pakistan TV's editorial sections span world news by region - the Americas, Middle East, Europe, Central and South Asia, China and the United Kingdom - as well as Pakistani politics, security, economy, health, culture, climate and education, with dedicated sports desks for cricket, hockey and football.
