NPO 3 Live Stream

NPO 3 is the third and youngest of the terrestrial television channels of the Netherlands' public broadcaster NPO, based in Hilversum. Launched as Nederland 3 on 4 April 1988 - after the frequency had been used experimentally earlier that year for NOS coverage of the Calgary Winter Olympics - it took its present name on 19 August 2014, when the NPO renamed its channels.

NPO 3 Programs

Between 06:00 and 19:30 the channel belongs to its children's services.

NPO Zappelin serves the youngest viewers and NPO Zapp the older children, with educational output such as NTR's SchoolTV.

After 19:30 the schedule turns to youth and young-adult programming: films, drama and comedy, both home-produced and imported.

The talk show De Wereld Draait Door occupied the evening slot from 2005 to 2013 before moving to NPO 1; other programmes associated with the channel include College Tour, De Lama's and Top of the Pops, and the youth news service NOS op 3 is linked to the channel's audience.

The Progressive Associations Home Channel

Nederland 3 was created as the home channel of the VPRO, VARA, RVU and NPS broadcasting associations, which shared a progressive outlook, with an initial emphasis on news, culture and sport.

NPO 3 is free-to-air on Digitenne channel 3, carried on cable in Belgium and Germany, and streams for Dutch viewers through NPO Start.
