NPO 3FM Live Stream

NPO 3FM is a Dutch public radio station with a visual radio stream, part of the NPO broadcasting family. Launched on 11 October 1965 as Hilversum 3 - created by minister Maarten Vrolijk as a public answer to offshore pirates such as Radio Veronica - it became Radio 3 in 1985, Radio 3FM in January 1994 when it gained full national FM coverage, and later NPO 3FM.

Music Profile

3FM is a rhythmic CHR station playing rock, alternative, indie and pop, home to the Mega Top 30 chart. The station reached the number-one spot in Dutch radio ratings in November and December 2013.

Serious Request and the 3FM Awards

Since 2004 the station's signature charity event has been Serious Request: in the week before Christmas, three DJs broadcast day and night for six days from a glass house without eating, collecting money for Red Cross projects. Each spring the 3FM Awards honour Dutch musicians, with winners chosen by listener vote. Studio broadcasts can be followed live via the station's visual radio stream.
