Madani Channel Urdu online - Television live
Madani Channel Urdu Live Stream
Madani Channel Urdu is the Urdu-language service of Madani Channel, the Islamic television network of Dawat-e-Islami. Broadcasting began in Karachi in 2008, and the channel describes its work as providing educational and social guidance to people across the world.
Teaching rather than spectacle
The channel's schedule is built on religious education. Programmes cover the fundamentals of belief and worship, the life of the Prophet, jurisprudence and everyday conduct, with preachers explaining rulings in plain Urdu for viewers who want to know how to act rather than to be entertained. Naat recitation - poetry in praise of the Prophet - has a fixed place in the day, as do Quran recitation and supplication.
Social guidance
Dawat-e-Islami describes itself as a movement of preaching, and the channel carries that dimension: programmes on family relations, the upbringing of children, honesty in trade and the conduct of neighbours, presented as religious duty rather than as general advice. The network runs services for women, students and children within the same framework.
Part of a wider media network
Madani Channel is one of several language services of the same organisation, alongside English and Bengali editions and a separate streaming platform where each live channel is published. Its centre of operations is Karachi, and its transmission reaches Pakistan and the diaspora through satellite and the internet.
