Primocanale Live Stream
Primocanale is an Italian regional television broadcaster owned by PTV Programmazioni Televisive, transmitting from Genoa throughout Liguria. Founded in 1982 - it celebrated its first 25 years of broadcasting in September 2007 - it operates as the region's best-established local news channel, received across Liguria on the regional digital terrestrial multiplex.
The G8 and National Visibility
The channel gained national attention in July 2001, when its live reports from the G8 summit in Genoa were carried by Italian and foreign national networks, helping launch the career of journalist Ilaria Cavo. In 2000 Primocanale had joined other Ligurian local broadcasters to build a regional television system, and in 2008 the group expanded by acquiring the Telecittà station.
Programmes
The schedule is built on local information. Primogiornale is the channel's regional newscast, on air in three daily editions, while Primomattino opens the day with news, weather and traffic alongside segments such as "La finestra sul mondo" and "Il medico risponde". Al Servizio del Pubblico accompanies viewers with live connections and phone-in calls, the grid carries the sports phone-in Calcio e pepe, the weekly health report TgSalute, the documentary strand Presa diretta, the port affairs programme Porti e città and a prime-time political talk show.
Live Coverage of Liguria
Primocanale's trademark is long-form live broadcasting: during bad weather, floods and public emergencies in Liguria the channel switches to continuous coverage, with journalists and camera operators across the four Ligurian provinces - Genoa, Savona, La Spezia and Imperia - reporting in real time from the field.
