Keshet 12 (קשת 12) is an Israeli free-to-air commercial television channel owned by Keshet Media Group. It launched on 1 November 2017 as one of the two replacements for the historic Channel 2, carrying the programming legacy of the Keshet franchise into a standalone channel.

From Channel 2 to Keshet 12

Israel's Channel 2, operated by the Second Authority for Television and Radio, was long programmed by two rotating companies, Keshet and Reshet. A reform of the country's broadcasting system closed Channel 2 on 1 November 2017 and granted each concessionaire its own channel: Keshet 12 and Reshet 13. News initially continued under the shared Israel Television News Company, with the primetime bulletin simulcast on both channels, until the merger of Reshet 13 and Channel 10 in January 2019 created HaHadashot 12 as the channel's dedicated news service.

Programs That Built the Brand

The channel's identity rests on some of Israel's most recognized formats. Eretz Nehederet, the satirical institution launched by Keshet in 2003, continues to anchor the comedy lineup, while Uvda provides investigative journalism. Reality and entertainment are led by Ninja Israel, HaKokhav HaBa (Rising Star) and MasterChef Israel, alongside drama, comedy and magazine programming.

Ownership and the 2026 Attack

Keshet Broadcasting is controlled by the Wertheim family, whose holdings also include Coca-Cola Israel and a stake in Mizrahi-Tefahot Bank; the group operates the international sales arm Keshet International and the digital platform mako. In July 2026 the channel's Tel Aviv offices were attacked twice: bricks were thrown through the glass entrance, and overnight on 27-28 July masked individuals smashed the entrance, leaving a death threat linked to the channel's coverage of the alleged abuse of a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman detention camp.
