BBS TV Live Stream

BBS TV is the television service of the Buddhist Broadcasting System of Korea, BBS 불교방송, which began broadcasting on 2 December 2008. It works alongside the organisation's radio service and news outlet, and it broadcasts in Korean from Seoul.

Teaching and ceremony

The channel's core is the Buddhist teaching of the Korean tradition: Dharma talks by monks and nuns from the major orders, sutra lectures and commentary, and the ceremonies held at temples - the regular services and the great observances of the Buddhist calendar. Series such as lectures on the Diamond Sutra, on the Lotus Sutra and on the classical texts of the tradition run over many episodes, giving viewers a course rather than a sample.

Pilgrimage and culture

BBS also broadcasts its own pilgrimage programmes, following the mountain temples and the sacred sites of Korean Buddhism, and documentaries on the country's Buddhist heritage - its art, architecture and monastic life. The network publishes an ON AIR schedule with catch-up viewing, so a series can be followed in order.

Watching

BBS TV broadcasts in standard definition on Korean cable and satellite platforms and streams online. Its news service, radio channels and programme archives are published through the organisation's site and through separate video channels for news and for teaching material.
