Alquran online - Television live

Alquran Live Stream

Alquran - قناة القرآن الكريم - is the Quran channel of the Karbala TV Group, the Shia broadcaster based in the Iraqi city of Karbala. Where the group's other channels carry teaching and news, this one is given over to the text itself.

Recitation, and little else

The channel's schedule is recitation: readings by the well-known qurra', complete khatmas carried from beginning to end over the course of weeks, and the recitations recorded at the shrines. There are no talk formats and no advertising breaks in the middle of a reading - the channel works as a continuous recital, which is how it is used by viewers at home and by mosques between prayers.

Part of the Karbala group

The Karbala TV Group runs a family of channels - Karbala TV itself, its news service, this Quran channel and others - and the group's publishing arm maintains a Quran section with recitations and readings. The shrine of Imam Husayn in Karbala is one of the two great centres of Shia pilgrimage, and the recitations performed there supply a large part of the channel's material.

Watching

Alquran broadcasts in standard definition by satellite and streams through the group's ktvlive platform, with a live player on its site. Its recitations are also published on its video channel.
