Total Bhakti Live Stream

Total Bhakti is a Hindi-language devotional channel built around the three forms that carry Hindu devotion in northern India: bhajan, the devotional song; aarti, the lamp offering with its hymn; and katha, the narrated scripture.

What the channel carries

The schedule moves between them through the day. Bhajans by established singers and by temple and village performers fill the music blocks; aartis are carried from temples at the hours of worship; and katha programmes give a storyteller the time to work through a scripture - the Bhagavata, the Ramcharitmanas, the lives of the saints - over many episodes. Teaching from gurus and sants sits alongside, recorded at their assemblies.

A familiar format, done at length

Indian devotional television has its own conventions, and Total Bhakti follows them without mixing in general entertainment: no films, no serials, no reality formats. What it offers instead is duration - a katha that runs for weeks rather than a clip, a morning of bhajans rather than a sample - which is how this material is actually used by its audience.

Watching

Total Bhakti broadcasts in standard definition and streams through a CloudFront delivery set up by its operator. Its programmes are also published on its video channel and its companion music and teaching channels.
