Paras Gold Live Stream

Paras Gold is the devotional channel of Paras Jain TV, the Indian broadcaster devoted to the Jain faith. Its site is unusual among religious channels in how thoroughly it serves practice: solar and lunar timings for Delhi, the Jain calendar, and the Kalyanak observances listed both by date and by lunar day.

What the channel carries

The schedule is built on Jain devotion and study: stotras and bhajans, the recitation of the Arti and other daily rites, discourses by monks and scholars on Jain doctrine, and Pathshala lessons teaching the tradition to children and young people. Coverage of the great observances - Paryushan and the Kalyanaks of the Tirthankaras - fills the religious year.

Television for a small community

Jainism has a few million followers in India, and a channel dedicated to it serves a community that is small, dispersed and highly literate in its own tradition. Paras TV's answer is thoroughness rather than spectacle: programmes that teach, a calendar that is accurate, and material that a family can use at home.

Watching

Paras Gold broadcasts in standard definition on Indian cable and satellite platforms and streams through the Tango TV infrastructure, with the network's site carrying schedules, the calendar and a live section.
