Koogi TV online - Television live
Koogi TV Live Stream
Koogi TV is the first Coptic Orthodox satellite channel directed at children. It operates under the supervision of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and His Eminence Metropolitan Marcos, Metropolitan of Shubra El-Khaima, and broadcasts in Arabic to families in Egypt and among the Coptic diaspora.
Three Axes of Programming
The channel sets out its work along three lines. The ecclesiastical axis covers ritual, doctrine, theology and the Bible, presenting the faith in a form children can absorb. The educational and behavioural axis teaches good habits and correct conduct. The national axis raises children in love, tolerance, acceptance of others and belonging to the country.
Age Groups
Programming is divided into three age bands, following the structure set out by the Pope in his address to the channel: from three to six years, from seven to eleven, and from twelve to fifteen. Each band has its own presenters, pace and subject matter.
Format and Content
The schedule mixes animation, songs, puppet segments and short dramas, with Bible stories told as serials. Children appear on screen in quiz and talent formats, and the channel runs viewer participation through greetings and birthday messages sent in by families.
Church occasions are covered for younger viewers, including the readings of the Coptic calendar, presented with explanation rather than as a straight transmission of the liturgy.
Where to Watch
Koogi TV is carried on satellite across the Middle East and streams through its own website, where the live feed and the channel's programmes are published.
