WGN TV Live Stream

WGN TV - channel 9 - is Chicago's legendary independent station, on the air since April 5, 1948, and still broadcasting from its studios on West Bradley Place. Its call letters honor the Chicago Tribune's old slogan, The Greatest Newspaper in the World, and its identity is the city's own.

Chicago's Very Own

The schedule is Chicago television: WGN Morning News, the long-running morning institution, plus midday, evening and late newscasts, and the sports the city lives for. Owned by Nexstar Media Group, the station runs one of the country's biggest local news operations.

Seventy-Five Years of Channel 9

WGN-TV signed on in 1948 from the Tribune Tower and grew up with Chicago. For seventy years it carried Cubs baseball - a pairing that made the station and the team synonymous for generations of Chicagoans.

From the Tribune Tower to Bradley Place

From its historic beginnings to its current studios on Bradley Place, WGN has stayed an independent voice in a network world - Chicago television, made in Chicago, for the city that watches it.
