San Jose TV Live Stream
San Jose TV is the official television channel of the Archdiocese of San Jose in Costa Rica. Its studios are at the Curia Metropolitana, on the south side of the Metropolitan Cathedral in the centre of the capital, and it broadcasts continuously, twenty-four hours a day.
The station describes itself as cultural and religious in character, with a Catholic orientation. Most of its output is produced locally, and the schedule combines religious, cultural and service programming for viewers in the Central Valley.
Liturgy and Formation
Live transmission of liturgical celebrations is a fixed part of the day, with Masses and feast-day services carried from churches in San Jose and from other regions of the country. Formation programmes and studio discussions explain the faith and address questions of Christian life.
Special coverage follows religious and cultural events across Costa Rica, including processions, patronal feasts and church anniversaries, so that viewers outside the capital can follow them.
History of the Concession
The channel came into the hands of the Catholic Church in July 2015, when the Asociacion Lumen La Granja, which had operated it since the 1990s, transferred the concession to the metropolitan archbishop. Since then the station has been run directly as a diocesan media service.
Coverage and Partners
San Jose TV reaches mainly the provinces of the Central Valley: San Jose, Cartago, Alajuela and Heredia. It also maintains an arrangement with Radio Fides for the rebroadcast of some content, linking the television schedule with the church's radio output.
Where to Watch
The channel is carried on Costa Rican cable systems and streams online, with recordings and live editions also published on its YouTube account.
