Masjid al-Haram, the Grand Mosque of Mecca, is the holiest mosque in Islam and the qibla - the direction of prayer - for every Muslim on earth. The live stream shows its courtyard continuously: the pilgrims performing tawaf, the circling of the Kaaba that never stops, and the mosque filling and emptying around the five daily prayers.

Ramadan and the Hajj

In Ramadan, the month of fasting, the mosque's night prayers draw millions of online viewers, and during the Hajj pilgrimage the broadcast follows the rituals of the largest gathering of people in the world.
